Epperson Epperson & Company is the leading supplier of Bulk Material Conveying products and services in the state of Florida. Established in 1932 with present ownership since 1956, Epperson now has full service operations in Tampa, Jacksonville and Miami. Epperson’s customers include utility companies, phosphate related businesses and other aggregate businesses.

“We chose to go with Tribute’s distribution software program because it has a conveyor belt component to help us track inventory,” says Jim Abbitt, Epperson’s President. “Since 65 percent of our business is in conveyor belts, this was very important to us. We have more than $2 million in belting inventory and keeping an accurate inventory is very important.”

“The Tribute program has an integrated belting module and is a lot more robust than our old software. Plus, they continue to add upgrades and make it more user-friendly.” Some of Tribute’s features that Epperson-2 Abbitt says his company especially appreciates are the:

  • Option to look up orders by PO numbers, rather than just invoice numbers

Epperson-pulley “The bulk of our satisfaction with Tribute lies in the support they offer,” says Abbitt. “Our old software company gave us virtually no support at all. They pretty much just sold it to us and said, ‘Okay, now you’re on your own.’

We like the fact that we are able to call Tribute, explain our problem, and have support resolve them,” he adds. “As much as 75 percent of the time, it’s a user error. When the problem is with the program, they fix it right away. They also utilize our input on changes to the programs. Overall, we’re very happy with the Tribute belt system. It’s a good system.”
