Mark Perry Recaps a Dynamic Year at IFPS

Ifps-logoWelcome to 2014! Today we are proud to have a guest post by Tribute customer, Mark Perry, of Fitzsimmons Hydraulics, recapping his tenure as immediate past president of IFPS.

Mark-PerryHow fast does a Year go? Incredibly fast, if spent as President of the International Fluid Power Society!

It has been such an honor to represent this dynamic organization at a wide number of events this past year. As I met with leaders of Industry, Government, and Education, one thing was very apparent - The work and mission of the IFPS is well known and very much respected. My mantra for the Society has always been: through our certifications we demonstrate individuals who can "walk the talk, not just talk it".

One project I am very proud to have been a part of this year is our Boy Scout merit badge initiative. We recognize the need to reach young people creatively to demonstrate what a rewarding career Fluid Power is. The merit badge does this. We held our first workshop in Buffalo, NY this past fall and it was met with incredible enthusiasm by the 32 scouts and their parents who participated.

Another project initiated this year was to promote the implementation of safety procedures by publishing critical safety guides and issuing all our members Fluid Safety Injection Injury Safety Cards.

2013 was our first year of self-management and we move in to 2014 in great shape financially and with momentum towards increasing certifications and membership numbers significantly.

We have assembled an incredible staff under the direction of our Executive Director, Donna Pollander. Our future is bright! Come join us. It is a great way to promote our Fluid Power industry and have fun in doing so.

Many heartfelt thank-yous for the opportunity to represent this awesome group of professionals contained in the International Fluid Power Society as their President for 2013.
